There has been one predominant theme for this year that has prevailed amongst all the others. One theme that has affected us all, that we have learned to cope with and make room for in our busy lives. It is often claimed as an inconvenient interruption to what we are used to, what we deem as routine.
So one would think.
Change. It’s happening everywhere, all the time, and affects us all alike. One of the biggest changes from this year involves pay cuts, hiring freezes, and lay-offs. What has this caused? The consensus would come to uncertain plans and widespread panic.
Change is truly inevitable. Logically, it’s easy to dislike change. You are used to the familiar, the routine, and enjoy knowing the path that it will lead to. But the one aspect you are missing is that your true potential cannot be reached until challenges are presented.
It really does come down to your mindset and how you view the obstacles and challenges that come across your lap.
When you run into Change, you have two options:
Option 1: Dwell on the negatives, your loss, and pending difficulties. Create excuses for an inability to create an affirmative solution.
Option 2: Concentrate on the positive notions. Focus on constructive action rather than the consequences of the change. You cannot alter the change, but you can alter your attitude and the subsequent effect of such change.
I don’t know about you, but I would gladly choose Option 2.
The true test is not how you dodge obstacles, but how you use those obstacles to pave a path of discovery and growth. It is when you encounter true adversity that you will discover your strengths.
Your success is in your own hands, so why don’t we make it the greatest success anyone has ever seen.
