Peter Morck, along with a team of biochemists, biologists, and herbalists developed Arbonne International in Switzerland in 1975.  They formulated a line of skincare products based on natural ingredients.  Arbonne opened its doors in America in 1980 and has expanded its product lines to include cosmetics and weight loss.  This direct selling company employs network marketing and multi-level marketing to distribute each of its products.

To become an Arbonne consultant, one must sign up and become a part of another consultant’s “downline (referred to as “successlines” by Arbonne).”  There is a small fee to do this, which provides new consultants with an i.d. and a starter kit.  No inventory purchase is necessary.  From here, consultants receive discounts on all Arbonne products.  They further have the capacity to sell and distribute products to customers.  To encourage high volume sells, Arbonne has started the Mercedes-Benz Cash Bonus Program.  There are also other bonuses, life insurance benefits, and more.  Arbonne also encourages all consultants to create “successlines,” as each consultant receives a portion of future sales from these accounts and bonuses from signing on new consultants.  After consultants below you have acquired “x” amount of consultants below them, they are no longer considered part of your monthly “RV” or retail value (which you must keep to a certain dollar amount in order to maintain consultant status.).  Arbonne consultants are charged a minimal annual fee to renew their Arbonne memberships.

Arbonne offers annual training to all consultants to help them learn how to better sell and establish relationships with clients.  This annual training is referred to as NTC or National Training Celebration.  New products are introduced at these meetings as well.  Moreover, Arbonne offers regional training known as ACT or Advance Consultant Training, in which the more successful consultants share advice and strategies to increase sales.

One of the advantages to working for this direct selling business is that Arbonne, for a small annual fee, offers consultants web pages to market and sell products.  This can really boost sales for consultants and offer them a way to reach new target markets.
