Friends and family ask a lot of questions about what I do for a living. And, when you start making a living online, yours will too. They’re interested to learn exactly how you can earn a living on the internet. When you think about the growth in internet usage, however, it’s easy to imagine how a person could easily earn a generous living.
In 2007, online retail sales reach $175 billion, according to Forrester Research. By the year 2012, sales are expected to reach $335 billion. This is a huge increase. There’s also a trend happening with overall consumer sales. Consumers are moving away from traditional stores to the online marketplace.
Taking advantage of an internet business isn’t just a profitable opportunity, it allows you more control. Take vacations when you want, stay home when children are sick (without guilt), you name it. The power of the internet provides an opportunity to create a very fulfilling business opportunity.
There aren’t enough hours in the day to get things done, and the grind slowly eats away at your personal time. Trust me, I’ve been there. The worst part is that the rewards are few. All the late hours, sleepless nights, and busy schedule yields very little in return. It’s a cycle that gets old quick.
Fortunately, there are alternatives to this career. The skills you’ve acquired in the restaurant industry or your current profession are transferable. However, instead of using these skills to benefit another employer, how about using them to build something for you? A business that wouldn’t require you to work long stressful hours and would give you more financial freedom.
